INGLEWOOD COUNTY.

SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL. (From Our Own Correspondent.) A special meeting of the Inglewood County Council was held on Tuesday. Present: Councillors A. Corkill (chairman), Cowley, Hair, Hunter, Jones, Simpson, Stuart and Topping. Tenders for metal from Knolflock’s pit were dealt with and that of C. Shreiber, 50 yards at 10s for quarrying, breaking, and delivery to spreader on Bristol Road, was accepted. D. Pant’s tender for 5s per yard for quarrying and breaking at Mt. Gamlin’s pit, Richmond Road, was accepted. J. Hatcher was appointed permanent surfaceman for the Kaimata district at. 13s a day wet and dry. F. Hickey was offered a similar position for the Inglewood district. The clerk was instructed to write to the Clifton and Stratford County Councils suggesting the erection of concrete boundary pegs on the boundaries of the counties, and to ask if they will share the cost, of same. The Autawa Road pipe culvert was left to the engineer to attend to. A loan of £lOOO on the Mana, Road, to give access to the soldiers’ settlement on that road, is to be proceeded with.
