NORFOLK ROAD. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Great preparations have been made for the forthcoming children’s fancy dress ball on Friday of this week, no effort being spared in the training of the children and the decorations to the ballroom. The latter are to be a special feature and it is hoped will be an advance on the decorations of last year’s ball. Judging from the sale of tickets, the sitting accommodation will be severely taxed, so it behoves all those wishing to have a comfortable view of the dresses to come along early. The grand march for senior children will start at eight, but dancing will begin at half-past seven. A special feature of the march will be the singing of the nursery rhymes as an accompaniment. At the conclusion of the children’s programme, the adults’ turn will begin. An outstanding attraction, for the grownups will be a prize for the best or most popular costume of each sex, to be decided by popular vote. This applies to the adults’ dresses only. As the object of the ball is to fill the committee’s exhausted cash-box, it is to be hoped that all will be there
