DROUGHT AND FLOODS.
TASMANIA SUFFERS BADLY. By Telegraph.—Press Assn—Copyright. Hobart, July 20. One of the worst droughts in the history of the State ended with heavy rain and gales. Between two and three inches of rain fell, flooding large areas and causing extensive damage. The dam at the Swansea mine, Zeehan, was swept away and the main street inundated. At Bridport a small schooner was blown ashore from her moorings, but was not damaged.
