The S.S. and A. liner Kia Ora arrived aV New Plymouth at 6.30 a.m. on Saturday, and was berthed by the harbormaster (Captain Waller) at 8.30 a.m. The vessel, which is on her fourth trip to this port, is under the command of Captain Jones, who has the following officers: Messrs.. E. Davis (first), J. Steele (second), G. W. Robertson (third). Engineers: Messrs. Harvey, Doe, D. Anderson, H. Hogg, A. Legg, Hardy and P. Hobbs; freezing engineers, Messrs. McDougal and' Grant; wireless operator, Mr. D. Addington.' The officers report a rough' passage from Wellington to New Plymouth, as a heavy westerly wind was encountered shortly after the vessel left. When she came in the ves» sei was drawing 18 feet 2 Inches forward' and 20 feet aft. No loading - was done on the Kia Ora on Saturday, but if the weather proves favorable a start will be made tills morning. The cargo from this port will consist of 30,000 freight carcases of uneat, 6006 crates of cheese, 127 bales of wool, 358 casks of tallow, 380 sacks of hides, and 500 cases of tinned meats. it is expected ttat loading operations will occupy about five or six days, and when com. plete the vessel will sail for Wanganui roadstead, Wellington, Australian ports, and thence to England. WAITOMO NOT CALLING. The Union Steam Ship Company have received a wireless message to the effect that th Waitomo. which was to have arrived at New Plymouth on Saturday with a cargo of coai from Newcastle, has been diverted *r> Napier, .owing to lack of berthage at this port. KAMO AT ANCHOR. The Kamo arrived from Plcton at 5.45 last night, but was not berthed. She will be berthed about 7 o’clock this morning. The vessel brings a quantity of coal and general cargo from southern ports, and la expected to be here about two days. CORINNA ON WEDNESDAY. The Corinna was due at Wellington yesterday from Lyttelton, and will sail to-day for Nelson and New Plymouth, taking cargo for the Taranaki port. The Corinna is due here on Wednesday. , ATHENIC LEFT SOUTHAMPTON. Cable advice has been received by the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company that their liner Athenlc left Southampton on Thursday for Wellington via ports, and Panama Canal. Tte vessel is due at Wellington about August 28. PORT LYTTELTON LEFT LONDON. According to a Press Association cable ( message the C. and D. Line steamer Port 1 Lyttelton left London a few days ago. for Auckland. The vessel has cargo to. discharge at. Auckland, Wellington, and Napie?.. THE RUAHINE. The New Zealand Shipping Company advise that the Ruahine, which is discharging London cargo at Auckland, is to leave the latter port to-day for Wellington.
