THE LEIPZIG TRIALS.

SINKING OF HOSPITAL SHIP. EVIDENCE OF THE CREW. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received July 14, 11.49 p.m. Leipsig, July 13. German bluejackets reluctantly gave evidence. Some tried to persuade Commander Patzig not to sink the Landovery Castle. Later, Patzig went on deck with accused. The rest of the crew were told to remain below. It was common talk among the crew that the lifeboats were sunk by shellfire, the officers manning the guns. Later, Patzig asked the crew to say nothing about what occurred. He accepted the full responsibility. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
