Mutton, fine 36s 6d, medium 345; beef, fine 425, medium 355; good mixed, 355. THE PRICE OF PIGS. At Newton King, Ltd.’s, New Plymouth Haymarket yesterday, weaner pigs made up to 13s 6d, slips to 15s 6d, good stores 355, pedigree Berkshire boar I*4 guineas. BURNSIDE STOCK MARKET. MUTTON VALUES EASIER. Dunedin, July 6. There were again large offerings of sheep and lambs at the Burnside sales to-day. The Sheep oh the whole were of good quality, and with the exception of medium-class ewefe, values were easier to the extent of 2s per head. The lambs were of passable quality, although quite a good percentage were not prime. Pigs were in moderate supply, and prices were a little weaker. Fat cattle were in short supply, and the quality was not up to the usual standard.

Fat Cattle.—There was a small yarding, 164 being sent forward. The quality on the whole was medium. Competition for prime quality beef was good at an advance of from 20s to 30s on last week's rates. Inferior quality sold under keen competition at last, week's rates. Prime ox beef was worth from 44s to 48s per 1001 b; medium quality, 39s to 435; cow beef, 22s to 245. Quotations: Primo bullocks,. £lB to £2l; extra prime, to £22 10s; medium, £l4 10s to £l5 10s; inferior, £9 10s, to £11; best cows and heifers, £l2 to £l4; extra, £l5 10s; medium, £9 10s to £lO 10s; inferior, £5 5s to £6 15s. Sheep.—A large yarding of good quality, a total of 3259 head being offered. Tte yarding was of better quality than has been the case for several weeks past, some good quality heavy-weight wethers and ewes being sent forward. In the last sale of the day values were back about 2s per head. Prime wether mutton was worth up to 3%d per lb, and ewe mutton from 2d to 3%d. Prime wethers Realised from 23s to 29s 3d; medium, 18s to 225; light and unfinished sorts from 15s upwards. Extra prime heavy-weight ewes realised up to 26s 6d; prime, 19s to 23s 6d; medium, 16s to 18s; light and aged, from 10s 6d upwards. Lambs.—A large yarding of fair quality, numbering 2331 head. Quite a number of lambs lacked finish. The demand was not particularly keen, freezing buyers' limits dently having been reduced. Sixpence halfpenny per pound appeared to be the basm on which frezing buyers were operating. ium quality and store larpbs were easier. Best lambs, 21s to 235; extra, to 25a 6d; medium, 17s to 19s; inferior, 12s to 14s.

Store Cattle.—A medium yarding was offered, and among the number were several pens of well-bred forward steers. For this class there was good competition at prices a little in advance of late rates. Competition was somewhat slack for inferior sorts, and the prices realised showed no improvement. Pigs.—A medium yarding, the bulk of which was comprised of light weights. There was, relatively, only a small proportion of bacon pigs sent forward. The market did not show the same animation as that of last week, and prices were easier to the extent of 5a to 7s 6d per head. Best and porkers realised values equal to 8d and B%d per lb. ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. Christchurch, July 6. At the Addington market to-day, the yardIngs, except in beef, were smaller than last week, and there was an improved sale in all except this section. Store Sheep.—Ah unusually small yarding, and the best sale. Of the season, particularly for ewes in lamb and forward wethers. Fair 4 and 6-tooth wethers, 16s to 17s 4d, ordinary 14s to 15s 6d; 2-tooth, 14s 2d to 15s 3d; good 4 and 6-tooth ewes In lamb, 20s to 25s ■6d; fair sound-mouthed ewes in lamb 16s to 17s sd; forward hoggets, 10s 6d to 12s 2d; fair ewe hoggets, 10s 3d to Ils lOd; cull hoggets, 7s 3d to 8s 3d. Fat Sheep.—Values were from Is to Is 6d better. Extra prime wethers, 29s to 355; prime, 24s to 28s; medium, 19a 9d to 23s 3d; light, 15s to 19s 6d; prime ewes, 19s to 24s 3d; medium, 15s 8d to 18s 9d; light and inferior, Ils 3d to 14s 9d; hoggets, 13s 6d to 18s 6d.

Fat Cattle.—A drop In values of 30s per head. Extra prime steers, £l5 10s to £24 ss; prime, £l5 10s to £2O; medium, £l2 to £l4 IDs; light and Inferior, £9 to £lO 10s; prime heifers, £lO 10s to £l6; ordinary, £7 2s Gd to £10; prime cows, £9 to £l6; ordinary, £5 17s 6d to £8 15s. Vealers.—Runners, £6 10s; good vcalers, £4 to £4 17s 6d; medium, £2 12s 6d too £l3 Ils 6d; small, £1 to £1 10s.

Store Cattle.—An improved demand. Three and four-year-old steers, £8 Is to £8 12s-, three-year steers, £5 12s 6d to £6, throeyear heifers, £6 to £6 IDs; medium cows, £3 to £4 Ud; inferior, 15s to 27s 6d. Dairy Cows.—A good demand. Good third calvers, £25; second and third calvers, £lB 10s; extra good springing heifers, £lB 15s; medium springers, £G to £ll. Fat Pigs.—Choppers, £5 to £lO 7s 6d; light baconers, £4 15s to £5 10s; heavy, £5 15s to £8 10s; extra heavy, £7 Is .6d (average price per lb, B%d to B%d) ; light porkers, £2 15s to £3; heavy, £3 5s to £4 (average price per lb, 9%d to lOd).
