WEDDINGS.

GYDE—SIMPSON. A pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Mary’s Church, New Plymouth, on June 28, when Winnifred, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. Simpson, was married to Sydney Leonard, third son of Mr. and Mrs. Gyde, of Hine Street, New Plymouth. The bride was given a-way by her uncle. She wore a dress of crepe-de-chine, with silk lace panels. She also wore the usual veil and orange blossoms, and carried a beautiful bouquet of white flowers and maiden-hair fern. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss P. Simpson, who wore a lemon-colored dress of crepe-de-chine and black lace hat. She carried a bouquet of yellow and white narcissus and maiden-hair fern. The bridegrootti was attended by his brother, Mr. Albert Gyde. as best man. Afterwards the wedding breakfast was held at Kawarott Park bungalow. Later the happy couple left by motor car en route for Napier, where the honeymoon is to be spent. The bride's travelling dress was brown cloth, with black velvet toque and pink trimmings. HAYES— STIELLER. A quiet wedding was solemnised at the Roman Catholic Church, Inglewood, on June 29, the contracting parties being Miss Hilda .Stieller, third daughter of Mr’s. Rose Stieller, of Kaimata, and Mr. Alan Hayes, eldest son of Mrs. Hayes, o f Midhirst. The Rev. Father Long celebrated the nuptial mass. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her brother, looked charming in a lovely frock of white crepe de chine. She also wore a veil and orange blossom and carried an ivory covered prayet book. She was attended by her sister, Miss Veronica Stieller, who wore a frock of deep cream crepe de chine and black hat, shoes and stockings to match. Mr. Antony Breen was best man. The wedding breakfast was held at the residence of the bride’s mother, where a most enjoyable time was spnit.
