SPRINGBOKS’ NEW ZEALAND TOUR. FIRST .MATCH AT WANGANUI. PLAY TARANAKI JULY 16. It was announced on Saturday afternoon that, in consequence of the Springboks arriving at Auckland on July 11, they would start off their programme by being matched against Auckland on July 13. The New Zealand Rugby Union, however, advise that It was found Impossible for Auckland to take the field on July 13, and that the tour dates as amended earlier in the week would stand. This means flat the opening match of the tour will be played against Wanganui, the visitors arriving there on July 13. The second match will be against Taranaki on .Inly 1G; then they will play Wairarapa on July 20, and Wellington on July 27. The Springboks will then go straight through the tour as previously* announced. TARANAKI v. SOUTH AUCKLAND. TO-MORROW’S MATCH. The South Auckland team to play Taranaki at. Hawera to-mqrrow will arrive by the afternoon train to-day. The Taranaki team will assemble to-morrow at the Egmont Hotel. Mr. G. Hopkins has been appointed referee for this match. ’ INTER-COLLEGIATE MATCH. SATURDAY’S FIXTURE. Considerable interest Is being taken in the meeting of the Wanganui. College and New Plymouth High School teams at Hawera on Saturday.
