The Inglewood branch of Newton King, Ltd., held a successful clearing sale ou account of Mr. R. B. Sutton on the boundary of the Inglewood borough last Tuesday. There was a large and interested attendance. The stock looked well, and had a good reputation. No really sensational prices were registered for the cows, the highest being £27, while the herd averaged £l6. The pigs sold at good prices, stores 22s 6d to 365, brood sow £7. The sundries and farming plant also went well, and amongst these tarrows made up to £6 15s, roller £23, and fertiliser drill £33.

The same firm held their fortnightly sale at the Inglewood yards on Wednesday, ror which the weather was favorable. A number of buyers and others were present, the yards were well supplied, and the demand decidedly improved. Enquiries for spring calvers and good young stock, as well as for sheep, were more noticeable than of late. A line of goats, to cope with the blackberry pest, presumably, was offered and sold at ss. Heifer weaners sold for 31s to 465, Jerseys from £4 7s 6d to £6, steer weaners 38s, 20-mcnth steers 625, store cows from 30s to o7s 6d, empty heifers £6 ss, heifers springing ranged from £7 to £ll 10s, spring calvers £7 15s, and springing cows £8 to £l4.

FARMERS’ CO-OP. AUCTIONEERING CO. HAMILTON MARKET REPORT. Beef.—The market is steadily advancing, local supplies of prime quality barely meeting requirements. Mutton.—-Mutton has advanced more rapidly than beef. The yardings as a rule are insufficient to supply the demand. Lambs have received an impetus from tho renewed operations of the export companies. • Advices from Home are much more favorable ill regard to this article. Store Cattle.—Tie improvement Indicated in our last report has been steadily maintained, resulting in greatly increased business. Stock is coming forward more freely. No doubt everything will soon adjust Itself to the new level, and the fictitious elevation of six months ago be forgotten. The mildness of the weather during the past fortnight lias caused phenomenal growth for, this tiime of the year, but at present we are receiving a most unwelcome reminder that winter has yet to be coped with. Practically all classes of stock are in demand. Fresh cows have sprung into prominence, also empty heifers and good calvers. Store Sheep.—All classes have experienced a sharp rise. Lambs have again come Into favor. Ewes in lamb are eagerly sought for, and according to advices no class of stock offers better prospect than lamb for export. Wethers still maintain their ground, and draw good competition wherever offered.

Dairy Cattle.—Dairy Cattle have participated in the general advance, and clearing sate averages show a marked increase. There is a constant private enquiry for both cows and hellers, though ti e fancy of buyers still drifts towards the Jersey or one of its cresses. Pigs.—Although there has been some fluctuation, values are higher than when vie last reported. B%d to 9d per lb is about the ruling figure, although as high as 9%d has been recorded.
