Mr. Justice Reed to-day heard an a|> peal by Arthur Owen against the magistrate’s conviction and sentence of two months’ imprisonment on a charge of keeping a common gaming house. In his evidence to-day, the chief police witness, Joseph Brown, contradicted himself so frequently under crossexamination by .Mr. M.
