BOXING.

THE ELTHAM TOURNAMENT. Interest in the boxing tournament to be held at Eltham on Thursday evening continues to grow, and applications for tickets are coming in from all parte of the province, so that there is certain to be the crowded house which the excellence of the programme deserves. In addition to the ten round lightweight and heavy-weight professional contests, the programme contains three amateur events that should be well worth witnessing. In the feather-weights Humphries (Eltham) will be matched with Hope (New Plymouth), and Julian (Eltham) will be opposed by Barnes (Wanganui), whilst in the welter-weights Fitzsimmons (Matapu) will meet Corless, a well-k-jown Wanganui amateur.
