PREVALENT IN CHRISTCHURCH. By Telegraph— Association. Christchurch, Last Night. Diphtheria is prevalent in Christchurch, and a meeting of local bodies and medical authorities wag held to-day to consider the advisability of organising for the efficient cleaning up of epidemics, which were recurring, and some of which were endemic and chronic in Christchurch. The general opinion wa# that the chief cause of the trouble was “carriers”. It was decided to approach thft Minister of Health, who will be in the city to-morrow, with a request that a commission of experts in research work be set up to investigate the whole matter.
