INGLEWOOD.
WELCOME TO MAGISTRATE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) June 24. At the Magistrate’s Court at Inglewood to-day Mr. Orr Walker, S.M., was welcomed by Mr. H. J. Thomson on behalf of the Inglewood Bar. In his remarks Mr. Thomson referred to the pleaeant relations that had always obtained in Inglewood between the Bar and Bench, and expressed the hope of himself and his confreres that such relations would continue. His Worship suitably replied. MAGISTRATE’S COURT. A sitting of the Magistrate’s Court wad held to-day. The. Government proceeded against F. Schrader and G. Miles for having bees in other than properly constructed hives. In each ease the defendants pleaded guilty, and extenuating circumstances. They were convicted and the cases adjourned to the next sitting of the Court, by which time the law must be complied with. The police proceeded against F. Coldriok for driving without, lights, and he was fined 10s and costs 7s. R. Cox, E. Addmott and J. Messenger. for riding bicycles on borough footpaths, were each fined 5s and 7s costs. CRIBBAGE TOURNAMENT. The first games of the second round in the tournament between the amalgamated cribbage clubs of the Inglewood district were played on Thursday last, , when the Inglewood Druids’ team were beaten by the Egrnont Villagers at Egmont Village, by 27 to 21 games. At Inglewood the Fire Brigade team scored 25 against the Bowlers’ 24, and Lincoln Road awakened and with 27 to 14 left the Foresters'* team in the lurch.
