SATISFACTORY PRICES. The first annual breeders’ consignment sal? of pedigree Friosialis was held in the cattle pavilion at the Palmerston North Show grounds on Wednesday, 22nd Instant. .h n president of the Nev; Zealand Friesian Breeders' Association, in the course of a few introductory remarks, pointed out that tills was the first sale of its kind held in the Dominion, the offering being without reserve after a niinknurn bid. and animals sold with a guarantee. Ti e cattle had been passed by a special inspection committee, and included a number of exceptional merit. Following is the list of sales made:— . i On account of .1. 35 guineas, 11. Williams, Featherston. On account James I’Jrle, Southland, one 5-year-old bull, 180 guineas, E. Hanks, Matamata. The sale, on the whole, was considered a very successful one, and was conducted by Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd.
PEDIGREE JERSEYS. The sale of pedigree Jersey cattle on account of Mr. A. Buchanan was held at I:is homestead on Wednesday, the 2/;d Instant, when there was a large and representative attendance of buyers. While it cannot be said that competition was actually keen, bidding was very sound, and nearb' the whole of the catalogue changed hands at satisfactory figures. Following is a list of the sales; To Mr. O. Tremaine, cows, 138 and 90 guineas; C. E. Foote, cows, 70 guineas and 66 guineas; R. Fleming, cow, 76 gill-teas; R. Feaver, cow, 50 guineas, heifers 45 guineas and 38 guineas; W. S. Carter, cow, 79 guineas; .T. T. Entwhistle, cow, 50 guineas; G. Gammon, cows, 74 guineas, 42 guineas and 13 guineas, heifers 82 guineas. 50 guineas, 31 guineas, and 27 guineas, bull 63 guineas; W, Biggar, cow. 49 guineas; L. MeCorrnan, heifer, 61 guineas; W. H.
