PARK CROQUET CLUB.

SOCIAL AND DANCE. At the Kawaroa Park bungalow last night a most enjoyable euchre party and dance was held under the auspices of a number of the Pukekura Park croquet ladies. Cards were indulged in up to 10 o’clock, about 25 tables being engaged in play. The prizes were won as under:—• 1 Ladies: First prize (aluminium kettle donated by Messrs. Bellringer Bros.), Mrs. Russell; second prize (10s fid worth of goods, donated by Mr. C. Carter), Mrs. Thompson. Gentlemen: First prize (silver-mounted case pipe, presented by Mr. W. H. Preece), Mr. Keating; second prize (leather attache case, donated by Messrs. Hallenstein Bros., “H. 8. Mr. West. After a dainty supper had been served a number of guessing competitions were decided, the following being the winners:—Cut glass crystal vase (donated by Air. W. Hookham), No. 90, Mrs. C. M. Hill (Fitzroy); crepe de chine blouse (donated by the Melbourne Co.. Ltd.), No. 85, Miss Williams (c/o Mr. J. Corrigftll, New Plymouth); fruit Xmas cake (donated by Airs. C. M. Hill), No. 123, Airs. Evetts (Fitzroy). The floor was soon cleared and dancing went with a swing until midnight. Mrs. George supplied a fine programme of music. The function resulted in a satisfactory addition to the new croquet lawns’ funds.
