CORRESPONDENCE.
M.P. FOR TARANAKI. (To the Editor.) Sir, —“Worker,” in your issue of Saturday, seems to be wailing for the presumed benefit of would-be Labor. The unemployed trouble is, I venture to say, mainly caused by the workers shirking their work when work is required to be performed. The high rate of wages demanded, together with the “go-slow” policy (suggested, no doubt, in many cases by agitators and unfortunately adopted by many good staunch men of the able class), has now I hope reached the climax. Your correspondent “Worker” (?) seems to be squealing under the leash that has been brought about him, consequently he rushes at the member for Taranaki to solve a problem and get him out of the rut. 1 suggest, sir, that our member advise “Worker” to work with a better will. There is plenty of work to be dope, and sufficient capital Io pay for it, but at present th? cost is too heavy a burden to bear in proportion to the many frequent results failing to attain anticipated requirements of the employer. Work, you “Worker.” —I am, etc., TARANAKI CENTRE.
