THE IRISH PROBLEM.
AMERICAN’S ANTI-BRITISH VIEW. By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright. Received June 21, 9.55 p.m. Washington, June 20. Senator Norris (Republican, of Nebraska), in a speech supporting his resolution recognising the Irish Republic, declared Britain was tantamount to a slave holder. He declared the British military methods were beyond defence, whereas the Irish methods were for selfdefence. Mr. Lloyd George’s war-time promises of self-determination had been nullified, and Ireland had been betrayed by autocrats sitting in secret around the peace table. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
