INCREASE IN WELLINGTON. NEW ARRIVALS INCLUDED. By Telegraph —Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The records of the labor bureau show that the number of unemployed registering is increasing, and the tothl number of names recorded is about 450. Tomorrow a score of men will be absorbed on public works and private employment. All these men have called during the past fortnight; if they fail to call the bureau concludes they have obtained work and their names are struck off, so that the records may show the actual position. The number of unemployed has increased by about eighty during the last week. Quite a number of applicants during the last two days are comparatively recent arrivals from England and Australia, some having landed at the end of last week. Among the skilled workers out of employment, of which the number is small, the largest number are engaged in the engineering trade as fitters and turners.
