It is learr-d authoritatively that .America has made representations to the Allies’ Reparations Committee to prevent Germany paying large reparation sums by drafts on New York banks, the reason being that Germany’s recant payments through New York have played havoc with the exchange situation to the detriment of American and foreign commerce.—Aus.-N.Z.
