PETONE TROUBLE.
ASSAULT ON A WORKER. By Telegraph.—Press Assoclatloa. Wellington, Last Night. In connection with a case of alleged assault on one of the men engaged at the Petone gasworks to take the place of a striker, the police state that several men followed a man in a motor car to Taita, and an argument is said to have arisen. The first report was that the man was seriously assaulted, but this is denied by the police, who say a technical assault only was com mitted. It i* stated further proceedings will be taken.
