TRANSFORMATION OF MATERIAL. INDUSTRIAL SCHEME IN ITALY. By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —CopyrightReceived June 17, 7.55 p.m. Rome, June 16. The Government has decided to cede to the con*orzia of the iron and steel worker* the arsenals at Naples and Venice and arms factories in Lagac-kio di Genova, Gardone, Vai Trompia and Terni. The consorzia corresponds with the British guilds, and is controlled jointly by the owners and the worker*. It aims at distributing profits to effective worker* and converting warlike establishments to production of peacetime industrial machinery and railway material; also the construction of a number of steamers. It is arranging for the demolition of enemy ships and the transformation of warships into merchantmen. As a result of the agreement the consorzia’s workmen have increased in number from 7000 to 25,000, while the co-operative organisations under its control have increased from ten to eighteen. —Reuter Service.
