FIXING THE DUTY ON WOOL. By Ttltgraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Washington, June 15. The Ways and Mean* Committoe ■which is formulating a new permanent Tariff Bill has abandoned the method of constructing a rate scale on the baais of the grease in wool. In the new tariff the rate will be per pound of scoured wool, on which the committee has agreed to a rate of 25 cento per pound. All other rates will be rationed from that figure. The old rate wa* 11 cento per pound of greasy wool, scoured being double.
