GOLF.

KIRKWOOD LEADING. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, June 15. Kirkwood, with three others, Is leading in the £2OO professional tournament, 36 holes, at Kingdom, with a score of 72. East is close up with 74. The course is dry and difficult. Golf bails have been found in various places—often in weird spots. They frequent streams and tussocks, and occasionally are to be seen under motor-cars that frequent the vicinity of the first tee (at some clubs). At Miramar on Saturday a golf ball was impaled on a piece of wire, after having been | driven. The ball was driven by Mr. Glen Grange, a member of the club, who, when he approached his “lie,” saw that about one inch of wire was embedded in it. The ball and wire have been retained by the club secretary as a curio.
