COMMERCE BY AIR.

SERVICE OVER SYRIA. London, June 2. The aeronautical correspondent of the Times states that the Government is arranging a scheme for the development of a regular commercial aerial service between Cairo and the head of the Persian Gulf. A fleet of first-class British machines will be employed. Basra is likely to be the eastern terminus, the machines calling at Bagdad, Damascus and Jerusalem on the way. It is expected that the completion of the service will be followed by the penetration of Africa from the same centre.
