RUTHERFORD MURDER CASE
WIFE OBTAINS DIVORCE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn—Copyright. London, June 14. A famous murder was recalled when Mrs. Rutherford petitioned for a divorce from Lieutenant-Colonel Rutherford, who is an inmate of Broadmoor Asylum, having been convicted in April, 1919, on a charge of having murdered Major Seton. The suit was not defended, but Amy Richards, cousin of xespondent, with whom misconduct is alleged, intervened and denied miscow duct. The judge found the misconduct proved and granted a decree nisi. A stay of execution was granted.—Reuter. [Colonel Rutherford became annoyed by the friendly relations prevailing between Major Seton and his wife. He followed him to a house where he (Seton) was dining and after a short interview shot him dead and gave himself up to the police. He was found to be insane.]
