RIFLE SHOOTING.
INGLEWOOD v. WAITARA. (From Our Own Correspondent.) A match has been arranged between teams from the Defence Rifle Clubs of the above centres at Waitara, on Thursday, the 16th inst. The terms are, seven, shots per man at each range 300, 500 and 600 yards: nine shootlsts a-side, the lowest score in eacc team not to be counted. The tea/n to represent Inglewood is: Pres. Crossman, Riflemen J. Bowman, A. Fraser, R. J. Frewin, W. H. Martin, J. A. Peattie, W. Robinson, O. Spur-, die, and G. Taylor. Old Inglewood shoot.'sts will, on reading this, perhaps be reminded of tile match that the Inglewood Rangers’ team under the late Captain H. Brown, fired on the same range against the late Captain J. Elliott’s Waitara corps. It must be over 30 years ago when “Jimmy” Landor made his famous “Waitara fluke,” ten consecutive bull's eyes at 500 yards, and I wonder will history repeat itself on Thursday next.
