The outstanding feature of the tennis championship singles was Major Hatwell (Fourth Ghurkas) defeating F. M. B. Fisher, 6—o, 2—6, 9—7. The winner was extremely accurate, and made wonderful recoveries from Fisher’s, diagonal volleys. Fisher led 4—l in the third set. The three Indian Davis Cup representatives beat their opponents. —United Service.
