THE WINTER SHOW.
OPENS THIS AFTERNOON. SPLENDID ENTRIES RECEIVED. The twelfth annual winter show of the Taranaki Agricultural Society will be opened in the Coronation Hall, NewPlymouth, this afternoon by the Min* ister of Agriculture, the Hon. W. Noeworthy, and Mr. S. G. Smith, M.P., at 2 p.m. The different of the show have filled admirably, there being excellent entries in all the competitive classes. The butter and cheese classes . attracted nearly 50 entries more .than last year, whilst in the farm and garden produce divisions competition will be very keen. The ladies of the district have also extended liberal sup/port to the show, having entered very freely in the fancy work and home industries divisions. The trades displays will be quite up to the high standaid; of previous years. The Citizens’ Band; will be in attendance each evening. Ths committee , and officials generally hate done their part to ensure the show being made as attractive as possible, and it is to be sincerely hoped the publie generally will show their appreciation by attending the fixture is record numbers on each of the four days it will remain open.
