CAPTAIN’S BODY FOUND. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, June 3. The body of Captain Anderson, master of the Huanui, who was drowned a fortnight ago during salvage operations, was discovered floating in the roadstead this morning. LAND FOR SCHOOLS SCHEME. Auckland, June 3. The possibility of 'the adoption of a new system of paying for land required for school purposes was mooted by the Hon. C. J. Parr in replying to a deputation. Referring to the financial stringency he remarked that there was a way out. If the vendors were willing to accept payment in Government bonds he would recommend the Government to issue debentures out of the Education loan at 5£ per cent, to the vendors of land adjacent to schools. He made it clear that this would only be done in cases of real urgency where it was imperative that land adjacent to schools should be acquired.
