WOMEN MURDERED. CRIMES BY SINN FEINERS. BOMB EXPLODES ON DESTROYER. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright Received June 3, 5.5 p.m. London, June 2. Sir Hamar Greenwood (Chief Secretary for Ireland), in the House of Commons, stated that six women had been murdered, seven wounded and three kidnapped by Sinn Feiners in Ireland since January. The figure did not include the killed or injured through bomb attacks on lorries and railway trains. Replying to another question, he said that during the fortnight ended May 8, the deaths of twenty police, eight military and forty civilians had been reported. Nine assassinations of exuservice men were attributed to Sinn Fein during the same period.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
Received June, 3, 10.15 p.m. London, June 2. A bomb explosion occurred on board the destroyer Trenchant at Haulblowine Island, in Cork harbor, last night, plates and boilers being seriously damaged. The employment of a time fuse of long duration is suspected. The dockyard has been closed down for an indefinite period, and the personnel dis-charged.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. FOUR POLICEMEN SHOT. London, June 2. Inspector O’Ca.ughey and three constables were shot dead in ambush at Killorglin. The charred remains of two unknown persons were found in the ruins of Croom courthouse, which was burned down on Tuesday.
