Sir Hamar Greenwood (Chief Secretary for Ireland), in the House of Commons, stated that six women had been murdered, seven wounded and three kidnapped by Sinn Feiners in Ireland since January. The figure did not include the killed or injured through bomb attacks on lorries and railway trains. Replying to another question, he said that during the fortnight ended May 8, the deaths of twenty police, eight military and forty civilians had been reported. London, June 2. Inspector O’Ca.ughey and three constables were shot dead in ambush at Killorglin. The charred remains of two unknown persons were found in the ruins of Croom courthouse, which was burned down on Tuesday.
