NEWTON KING LTD., REPORT. At Uruti sale on 23rd May there was a good yarding of both sheep and cattle. The sale was inclined to dreg but there was a fair amount of enquiry nevertheless, and practically everything sold. 4 and 6-tooth wethers Ils, 6-tooth ewes 7s 7d, Ifri-calf heifers £6 ss, £6 17s 6d, Jersey do £9 10s, £l6 10s, Holstein do £7 12s 6d, empty heifers £2 7s 6d, £3, £3 15s, 15-montto do 255, fat heifers £6 ss, 2%-year steers £2 6s, store cows 12s 6d, 15s, 255, spring cow £9, hack mare £8 10s. At Stony River on 24th the yarding was small and: quotations on a par with late rates. Weaner pigs £6, posts £1 10s, weaner heifers 21s, Jersey do £3, in-calf heifers £5 12s 6d, ’ springing heifers £8 10s, £9 10s, £8 15s, £ll sr, dairy cows £ll 10s, in-calf do £4, £5, lambs 7s Id, 7s 6d, forward empty ewes 7s. At WaKwakaiho on 26th, adverse weather conditions prevailed, little stock coming forward. Store cows 10s, 15s, 20s, forward do £2 12s 6d, bulls 12s fid, 20s, In-calf cows £5, better quality do £7 15s, £8 15.'

On the same day we conducted a clearing sale at Eltham on account of Mrs. D. Kneebone. Dee<pite rorugh weather, buyers attended in strong numbers and a spirited sale resulted. The cows were a good lot, a few showing age, and sold well, ? prices ranging from £l2 to £lB. A good’sttmp of draught mare realised £46. The furniture, which was practically new and in splendid order, was eagerly competed for.

At Urenui on 30th, we report a full yarding of both sheep and cattle. The market had a decidedly Improved tone, tills being particularly in evidence in the sheep pens. The yarding consisted mostly of breeding ewes, of extra good quality, for.which there was both a local and outside enquiry resulting in the whole offering selling at the hammer. Cattle values remained much on a par with late sales, a few extra choice Jersey heifers close to profit attracting keen attention and selling at high figures. Two-tooth in-lamb ewes 13s 7d, 4-tooth do 14s lOd, 8tooth do 12s 7d, fresh full mouth awes 7s, 9s 3d, 4-tooth empty ewes 10s, launbs 7s, 18-mouth steers 31s, 375, 20-month do £2, £2 6s, 3-year bullocks £3 10s, weaner steers 6s, weaner heifers 15s, Jersey do £4 ss, Jn-calf heifers £7, Jersey do £l2, £l4 10s, Jersey springing heifers £2O 10s, cows In calf £5 ss, 18-month empty heifers £2 19s.
