THE GIRLS’ HOSTEL.
SOME MOBE QUESTIONS ANSWERED. (Contributed.) “May not girls enter the. hostel as a permanent residence?” Yes, but when the time comes that there is a waiting list, somebody must be asked to move on. Those who can best afford to pay high rates would probably be the first to go, provided they have learned to know what board the town offers. The Rooms Registry, which the Y.W.C.A. early establishes, gives such information and helps to prepare the way. According to the demand for accommodation, each local Y.W.C.A. uses its dekcretion in determining the length of tenure any one person may ’stay in residence. Sometimes those over a Certain age are only allowed one year, while younger girls are given a longer term. Circumstances alter cases, in t'he Y.W.C.A. hostel as elsewhere. If the supply is equal to the demand ip time limit at all is fixed. Only time and circumstances can answer. this question.
“Is it true that members of the Roman Catholic Church may. not stay in the hostel?”
It is certainly not true. A girl’s religion is not taken into account at all. All Y.W.C.A. activities are open to any girls, regardless of class or creed.
