MINERS’ FEDERATION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, June 1. The ballot for official positions in the New Zealand Miners’ Federation has closed. Two returns are to come', but the election the following is assured: Vice-president, J. Mcßride; secretary and treasurer, J. Arbuckle; executive member for Buller F. Grant; elective member for gold mines, M. A. Reilly; executive member of Southern districts, ,M. Hammii.
Returns received up to the present indicate that the contest for the presidency between, P. O’Rourke and B. Davidson is very close.
