THE ENGLISH DERBY.
AIRSHIP TO WIRELESS RESULT. ROYAL PAGEANT REVIVED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright. Received June 1, 5.5 p.m. London, May 31. There are prospects for a record Derby Day. Excursions to Epsom Downs have already commenced, but no race trains will be run owing to the coal strike, visitors using motor cars, charabancs, hundreds of omnibuses, and taxicabs. The road traffic is being specially organised under the supervision of airship R 33. Wireless telegraphy and telephony will be used to report the race, the airship sending out regular messages. The King and Queen, instead of quietly entering the grandstand, will enter at Tottenham corner, driving along the course to the grandstand. Fearing Sinn Fein outrages, the King is being specially guarded at Epsom. Alan Breek’s owner states he has developed trouble in the pan of the heel. A veterinary is hopeful he will run. — Aus.-N.Z.
