FOUND DROWNED.

FITZROY RESIDENT’S DEATH. BODY IN THE TE HENUI. The death from drowning occurred yesterday of Miss Annie Ella Smith, single, aged 45 years, whose body was fbund in the Te Henui river at Fitzroy. Miss Smith was a well-known resident of Fitzroy, where she loved with her sister.

Miss Smith was accustomed to going for a walk about 8.30 a.m. She did not return about the usual time, and as this created some anxiety the police were notified and a search party was organised. Subsequently Miss Smith’s body was found in about two feet of water by a party of High School boys engaged in the search. An inquest will be held to-morrow.
