The Transkeian General Council, an important body composed of natives, unanimously passed a resolution regretting the bloodshed at Bullhoek, which it says, however, appears to have been unavoidable. The Government replied expressing appreciation of the resolution as representative of the most responsible native opinion in the'Union, and giving an assurance that there would be nothing vindictive in the action to be taken.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. THE’ OFFICIAL CASUALTIES. Received May 28, 5.5 p.m. Capetown, May 28. Official.—The casualties at Bullhoek were 171 natives killed, 126 wounded, 94 unwounded prisoners. ,

The demolition of 300 unauthorised houses will be commenced on the thirtieth, leaving only 26 standing. Women and children have been given until the 28th to camp. —Reuter Service.
