SCULLING.
THE WORLD'S CHAMPIONSHIP. * By Telegraph.—Press Association. Blenheim, May 28. Speaking at a Harbor Board function at Havelock', Arnst made an outspoken condemnation of the athletic attitude of the Blenheim public in connection with the forthearning race for the world's sculling championship. He mentioned his admiration of the district, but “he had been all over the world, and never had been in a place where things were more dead.” Arnst added that 5.f he won the race and other circumstances were satisfactory, he might row Hadfield on the Wairau. Both Hannan and Arnst look very fit, and they have been very fortunate as regards weather conditions for training. Next week Arnst will be doing really fast work, and towards the end of the week will have a try out over the whole course. The final deposit is due on June 4. Tlte articles stipulate a stake of £250, with an extension to £5OO. • Quite likely the latter sum ivl.ll be paid up by the backers of the rivals.
