THE FIRST RETURNS. MTgnESS OF THE UNIONISTS. JOEAVY VOTING EVERYWHERE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright, London, May 20. It is now expected that the Unionists will secure 38 seats in Ulster. There have t>een great rejoicings in Belfast. A Sinn Fein crowd burned a furniture JPan and maltreated the driver, An armpured car restored order. The Socialists piade such a poor show that all forfeited their £l5O deposit. The first elected member to the Ulster Parliament is Mr. Mole®, member of the House of Commons for South Belfast, where he largely exceeded the proportinal representation quota. The election of three other Unionists seems to be assured. The bulk of the other returns may be expected by the end of the week. Three Unionists and De Valin, a Nationalist, have been elected for West Belfast. All four Unionists were returned for North Belfast. Thus far 21 Unionists have been elected, one Nationalist and one Sinn Feiner. The Unionists secured all eight seats in South and East Belfast. Sir Robert Anderson (Unionist), 13.466, and Professor McNeill (Sinn Fein) 11,866, headed the poll in Londonderry. The two remaining seats were filled by Unionists on the second and third counts, one being a woman.

Examination of the polling returns reveals exceptionally heavy voting everywhere, and over 95 per cent, at one station, while the general average was SO per cent. THE LATEST RETURNS. PE VALERA’S ELECTION ASSURED. Received May 27, 8.30 pan. London, May 27. The latest Ulster returns show Sir James Craig (Unionist leader) had a big lead in County Down, but De Valera’s return is assured.
