DUTCH FAIR.

FUNCTION AT WHITELEY HALL. A fair under the direction of the Methodist Young Women’s Bible Class was held in the Whiteley Hall yesterday. The stalls presented a very pleasing appearance, the decorations being carried out in Dutch style, and the attendants wore the national costume. A feature of the fair was the replica of a windmill, in which was housed one of the stalls. This added materially to the effect of the decorative scheme. The promoters were not favored with good weather, the day being very boisterous, but there were a good number of patrons during the afternoon. The stalls were well stocked, and the various departments for fancy work,. produce, home-made delicacies, etc., made a pleasing display. Catering arrangements for afternoon tea were also admirably conducted. A number of musical items were contributed during the function.

A list of the stall-holders is as follows: —Produce, Misses Scott, Perrott, and Ki veil; work stall, Misses Short, Bottrill and Sole; sweets, Misses Pascal!, Sutherland and G. Jamieson; flowers, Misses Hartnell. Purdue. I. Boon, and Aitken; cakes. Mrs. Griffin, Misses Boon and Sutherland; afternoon tea, Mrs. Pascall, Misses Waterson, and R. and W. Okey. The fair will be continued this afternoon and evening. Receipts are to be devoted to the Solomon Islands missionary work, and also to the Bible Class fund.
