WORK FOR UNEMPLOYED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Napier, Last Night. Tre Labor Department has arranged to send a number of married soldiers and married men with dependents to employment on public w’orks on Monday. Later some fifty single men are to be provided with work in the back-blocks not suitable for married men. Men from the ranks of the unemployed in Napier and Hastings will be selected for the work offering. MINISTER OF PUBLIC WORKS. Napier, Last Night. The Hon. J. G. Coates (Minister of Public Works), who has been on an extended tour of the East Coast districts, arrived here to-night and received deputations regarding unemployment and various other matters of local interest. It is expected the Minister will leave on Saturday for Wellington.
