The final stage in the search for Alien, one of the prisoners who escaped from the Wanganui gaol last Saturday, appears to be approaching. Following on the capture of Donovan at Marton last evening, the police, as a result of information, concentrated the search in the direction of Hunterville, and Allen was^sighted to-day, but he made into a patch of scrub. He is now surrounded by a police cordon, and his early capture is expected.
