LECTURES TO DAIRY FARMERS. Masterton, May 19. “How to increase the milk yield of dairy herds” was the subject of a series of lectures delivered by Mr. A. H. Cockayne (Government Biologist) io various branches of the Fanners’ Union throughout the Wairarapa. The last of the lectures was delivered at Featherston on Wednesday, and so great has been the interest aroused everywhere in the district that the lecturer has been asked to give another series in the near future. ■ Mr. Cockayne demonstrated with the help of charts that those of New Zealand which went in for grow ing supplementary crops to ensure prf jer feeding of cows through the year si awed a greater yield per cow than districts that relied mainly on tures. He contended that with pi 1 w feeding the present average yield of 1} Gib of butter-fat per cow could be raised in one season to 2001 b per cow.
