AMERICA AND EUROPE.
ATTITUDE OF A SPECTATOR. UNLESS PEACE IS IN DANGER. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received May 24, 8.35 p.m. Washington, May 21 (delayed). The status of Mr. Harvey (United States Ambassador to Britain), at the Supreme Council is amplified in an official statement issued last night. He will not depart from an attitude of observation, and unless events develop threatening the world’s peace or to jeopardise the United States’ interests distinctly, he will not be involved in European matters. Mr. Harvey would act should the Silesian situation threaten an Anglo-French breach, but so far that is solely a boundary question.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
