HOCKEY.

EGMONT LADIES’ CLUB. At a meeting of the Egmont Ladies’ Hockey Club, held in the Fire Brigade Station, Stratford, on Monday evening, Mr. Selby presided over a large attendance. On the motion of Miss Moon, a hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr. F. D. Gaff an ey for his donation of a guinea towards the funds, and Mr. H. Ashton 10s 6d. Mr. Gaffaney has also donated a. trophy to the value of a to be given to the most improved player, of the season, the selector to be the judge. The following team was picked to represent Egmont at Hawera on June 3: —"Misses Hammond, Henry (2), Grubb, Rudkin, Boon, Smart, Armstrong, Anderson, Hale, and Mrs. Gaffaney.
