ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Level crossing accident. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, May 21. While Dr. of .Tapanui, and Robert Perry, his brother-in-law, were motoring in Kelso last evening they were caught by an engine at a railway crossing. The car was upset and smashed. Perry escaped with slight injuries, but Dr. Robertson was seriously injured, his nose and thigh being broken, with other fractures, contusions and bruises, INQUEST ON AN INFANT. Timaru, May 21. An inquest was held to-day on the body of a newly-born male child found at the rubbish tip. Medical evidence showed that the child had breathed and was normal in every way. The body when found wasj partially gnawed by rats. The inquest was adjourned for further inquiries.
