UNLAWFUL SALE OF BEER. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dannevirke May 20. In the Magistrate’s Court, Frederick William Toomer, partner in a fish business was convicted of having sold two bottles of beer without a license. He was fined £2O. Security for an appeal was fixed in the amount of the fine. CLOTHING TRADE" EMPLOYEES. Wellington, tyay 19. The conference of Dominion delegates of employees in the Wholesale Clothing Trades Union and the Bespoke Union decided to amalgamate and to form a federation. Office bearers were elected and the council will sit in Dunedin, where the previous executive was located. Employees are asking for reduced hours and a substantial increase in wages. The conference met the employers and the latter stated that they were unable to depart from the existing award. The matter was referred to the affiliated unions for consideration.
