FIGURES FOR PAST YEAR. SURPLUS OF SIX MILLIONS. (By Wire—Own Correspondent.) * Wellington, Last Night. The Acting-Minister for Finance has Issued, through the Gazette, the public finance returns for the quarter ended March 31 last. These figures complete the returns for the last financial year, but the Minister has not issued a cozuplete statement for the year, and the preparation of such a statement from the Gazette returns is a task of some magnitude. It appears that the revenue for the year reached a total of some £34,000,000, an increase of about £8,000,000, The expenditure increased by about £3,200,00Q. The surplus for the year was in the neighborhood of £6,100,000.
