KILLED IN A LIFT.
ACCIDENT AT AUCKLAND.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Frederick Augustus Pooley, a cleaner at the Chief Post Office, was killed in a lift well this afternoon. The liftman dropped a key iown the well, and deceased went to recover it. While the lift was ascending he apparently was struck by the descending counter-weight, as he was lying seriously injured about the head. He died going to the hospital.
