At five ends the score was 26 to 16 down, but at the end of rhe next five the score was 31 to 30. New Zealand was in the lead at the fifteenth head, when the score was 61 to 59, but England made a splendid effort during the last six ends, Emerson getting six and foui, Dawson four, and Shatford five.
