PALMERSTON NORTH SESSION.
By TelAgraph.—Press Association, Palmerston North, May 17. In the Supreme Court, Levy Welland, for theft of woollen goods from a wagon at Awapuni siding, was sentenced to two years’ hard labor. Andrew Bezzant was found guilty of manslaughter, with a recommendation to leniency. The charge arose out of the recent Gorge fatality. He was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment concurrent with his previous sentence for theft of a car, which sentence he is serving.
